One of the reasons why Elon Musk has fired a large number of people is that he was forced to pay a large amount, $20-40 billion for twitter when the former ceo parag aggrawal refused to reduce the share price. If he refused to purchase Twitter he would be penalized, and get nothing, so he decided to purchase twitter which he was using regularly and recover the money invested from twitter. Reducing most of the expenses was the main way he could cover the large investment , though most of the top car companies have stopped advertising since Tesla is a major car manufacturer
Musk will probably charge top users for the service they use, and this will help domain investors to some extent, since people may not want to pay
